Residential Systems Reviews CP-IW260X & CP-IW460X!

Here is a fantastic review on the CP-IW460X as well as the CP-IW260X by John Sciacca from Residential Systems! John says the speakers have "sound quality that will make you forget you're listening to an in-wall."

"Turning on the 460X’s was like removing the proverbial veil from the sound, releasing this sense of space and delicacy around every recording, and letting every note stand clear and ready to be appreciated."

More great quotes are below:

"The audio is airy, open, detailed, lightning-quick, and effortless."

"The ribbon tweeter is so fast and revealing, it excels at extracting the fine details from any delicate parts of a recording; taking loving, kid gloves to stringed instruments, female vocals, piano notes, cymbal work, and the like, carefully polishing them up, and delivering them in glorious, refined detail."

"The 460X’s captured the aching detail in her voice, even the nearly indistinct sound of her lips parting as she opens her mouth to sing."

"If you have been skeptical of high-resolution audio, not thinking you could hear or appreciate the detail, the 460X’s will take you to church and make you a believer."

"...even at these extreme volume levels, the 460X’s delivered audio that was clean, loud, and oh-so-danceable, without being fatiguing or harsh on the ears. At high volumes these speakers make your walls disappear and have you forget you aren’t listening to a tower."

CP-IW460X: NOVO Magazine Review

Here is an amazing review by George de Sa from NOVO Magazine on our CP-IW460X speakers! Listening to our full-size luxury in-walls, George said, "...I was smitten by the abundance of dynamic bass energy, weight and definition. Esperanza’s voice came across as sweet, natural and relaxed.”

He compares our speakers to a "sleeper hot-rod", stating that "the CP-IW460X delivers delicious high-end performance behind a most unassuming exterior.”

More great quotes are below:

“The ribbon tweeter in the CP-IW460X is truly a high-end transducer, revealing minute inflections and fine detail in a most refined manner.  This amazing tweeter is also very well integrated with the flanking twin midrange drivers, calling no undue attention to itself.”

“…the CP-IW460X also had an organic warmth across its upper midrange and treble - superb detail without any tendency towards coldness, dryness or sterility.”

“A generous soundstage was revealed with a clear sense of depth and front to back layering - percussion falling behind Esperanza’s glorious voice, brush strokes on the drums a little more forward. Imaging was handled with aplomb, with the various elements taking defined positions in space.”

“Delivered with dimension, it was as if Sonny was playing just within the confines of my room.”

“The overall soundstage was large with impressive depth and the CP-IW460X's were able to deliver the vastness of the soundscape across the front plane of my room.”

“It has substantial bass, enough to rival a large bookshelf or even mid-size tower loudspeaker.”

“The days of compromising on sound to meet décor trends is a thing of the past with a speaker as capable as the Monitor Audio CP-IW460X.  With its paintable grills, any interior decorator should be satisfied, without compromise to high-end sound.”

Where The In-Wall Meets The Audiophile

In the June issue of Wifi Hifi, David Susilo writes about his experience with Monitor Audio's flagship Luxury In-Wall speaker from the Controlled Performance range, the CP-IW460X. The review couldn't have been better, as illustrated in some of the amazing quotes below...

"These are the first in-wall speakers I can actually say are good enough to replace standalone speakers for both home theatre and two-channel applications."

"...amazing sense of imaging. They are able to recreate a large soundstage but, at the same time, provide an exceptional amount of accuracy and multi-layered details."

"...I thought I was listening to a surround track."

"The woofers produced a mind-boggingly realistic bass response that blended with the music without ever overpowering the performance."

"...the CP-IW460X did an amazing job of bringing to life the warmth of these wonderful tunes."

"Dialogue in each film was produced with great detail and neutrality, even without a centre channel."

"I was shocked at just how much bass was coming from these in-walls. The CP-IW460X had zero trouble producing bass... and grabbed my attention from scene to scene."

"The overall experience was mesmerizing."

A "True Audiophile Performance" for Residential Systems

To get excellent sound for your home theater and musical needs, you need not always turn to box speakers. Some consumers prefer the in-ceiling / in-wall option for a more discreet look, and Monitor Audio offers a collection of speakers for that solution.

John Sciacca of Residential Systems reviewed Monitor Audio's CP (Controlled Performance) Trimless series, as well as the In-Wall Subwoofer system to find out if Monitor Audio's in-ceiling and in-wall solutions were as great sounding as they were discreet. This definitely proved to be true, as John states, "In the age-old choice between aesthetics and performance, Monitor Audio's Controlled Performance Series proves listeners can have both."

"...they excelled in producing great detail and had a nice wide dispersion that did an admirable job of filling the room with sound."

"Sonically, these are moving into the land of true bookshelf replacement, with rich audio that has plenty of depth and detail, as well as SPL."

"How good did the 380s sound? I had them in my showroom leaning against some tower speakers with built subs and playing some music, and a customer listened for a while and then said, 'Wow! Those tower speakers really sound great. Who makes those?'"

"The IWA-250 amp provides enough control to blend the sub's bass to match the speaker, room, and listening preference."

"...it definitely produces those lowest octaves in music, giving extra weight and presence to the sound."
